Job Description Job Title SQL Data Analyst Reporting to Business Systems Architect/info Security Overall Purpose To support operational/strategic business activities through the end to end development, enhancement, maintenance and performance tuning of operational information and models, such as but not limited to SQL Server, KPI dashboards and MS Reporting Services. To provide and communicate complex key information and detailed data to the business. To include the building, maintaining, supporting and continual improvement of core database objects and complex sets of data. Scope of role To seek to identify areas for continuous improvement through creativity and flexibility within the business plan framework. Key Tasks Person Specification External liaison with Internal liaison with Analyse and present complex and diverse data reports using Microsoft reporting services. Lead in the development, maintenance and performance improvement of core database objects, processing databases and data integration environments. Lead with the planning, testing and implementation of data package solutions, including integration systems management. Lead, mentor and develop the existing data team. Troubleshoot databases, data warehouse and reporting services issues. Create store procedures, triggers and functions. Provide support to application developers. Adhere to quality processes and procedures. Monitor own progress towards business and individual objectives. Proven and demonstrable experience of TSQL/ Microsoft SQL Server Products (2008 onwards) and SQL Profiler An understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments. Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques. Ability to review and analyse complex stored procedures. Experience of Database Design & Development. Strong problem solving skills. Previous experience on Government contracts such as DWP or SFA would be advantageous Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Strong organisational skills and able to prioritise and execute tasks in a highpressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
