Inspiration in a new dimension: DLW Form linoleum Flexible furniture design with linoleum DLW linoleum now inspires unique furniture and interior designs. With its Form collection, Armstrong has developed an authentic covering, which is unusually flexible, elegant in its appearance and possesses excellent usage properties. Due to its tight bending diameter, DLW Form linoleum is perfect for creating curved and rounded furniture with exciting material combinations: natural with wood, elegant with glass or visually contrastive with metal. Unique designer pieces can be created for fascinating retail and trade show booths. It is also possible to make kitchen and household furniture on an individual basis and on an industrial scale. Form is all about flexibility. Its elastic cotton backing and only 2mm thickness make the covering extremely flexible and allow it to be bent to a diameter of 35 mm. This opens up an array of classic and innovative edge solutions. Form can be manually applied to all commercially available materials with current glues, for example MDF, particle board or solid wood. Using machine presses, DLW Form linoleum can be applied at temperatures up to 60°C (140°F). The surface can also be sawed, milled and drilled immediately after gluing. It can be seamlessly and efficiently integrated into industrial manufacturing processes and can be further worked using current wood-working machines. The feel of DLW Form linoleum is pleasantly warm and natural – the surface is velvety and lusterless. And it not only feels natural, it is also very sustainable because linoleum is made from predominantly renewable raw materials. The main ingredients are linseed oil, resin and saw dust. Armstrong uses cotton as the base material. No chemical softeners, chlorine or – 2 – heavy metals are used at all. The color pigments themselves are natural and even partly organic. Armstrong offers DLW Form linoleum in nine timeless and classic color hues: black, medium and light gray, and three brown hues, beige, dark green and a deep red. The cotton backing is color-coordinated to match the respective linoleum – ideal for open edge solutions. All the colors are non-fading and are defined in the Natural Color System (NCS). DLW Form linoleum is dirt-resistant and can be easily cleaned with mild, non-abrasive cleaning solutions. It is also inherently anti-static and repels dust particles – so it dramatically reduces dust build-up. Before the first use, Armstrong recommends treating it with a furniture polish. This allows surface wear and tear to be treated later. To minimize waste, Armstrong delivers DLW Form linoleum in standardized 200 cm (78.75 in) wide sheets. This format has proven to be optimal in practice. For transport, the high-quality material is rolled onto a cardboard tube and wrapped in several layers of packing paper. This ensures that it is very wellprotected and even ecologically contained during transport. After being opened and allowed to acclimatize for three days, the sheet can be worked at a temperature of at least 18°C (65°F).
