Job Description Date: September 2015 Job title: Project Coordinator, CEE (Centre for Economic Empowerment) Status of post: Full time, fixed term for approximately 10 months Salary: Salary equivalent to NICVA salary scale H, NJC Salary points 32 34 (£27,924 - £29,558). Candidates will normally be appointed at the start of the pay scale. Responsible to: Head of Public Affairs Responsible for: CEE Development Officer SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To coordinate and develop the work of the Centre. 2. To develop and maintain ongoing community engagement, alongside broader stakeholder interest and engagement, in the work of the Centre for Economic Empowerment. 3. To develop a resource of information and expertise through a process of research, monitoring and analysis that will be available to all sectors and/or organisations that wish to become involved with the work of the Centre. 4. To build the skills and knowledge of the voluntary and community sector to engage in debate on and influence economic policy, public finance and resource allocation. 5. To proactively promote discussion and debate, on as wide a scale as possible, on future options, opportunities and challenges in this field for the community and voluntary sector in Northern Ireland. 1 SPECIFIC DUTIES: 1. To monitor trends in economic development and policy provide analysis of their impact on poverty, deprivation, equality and creating a shared future. 2. To organise a series of master classes and seminars for the voluntary and community sector on a range of issue related to economic policy and public finance. 3. To organise one major conference per year. 4. To produce briefing and analysis. 5. To develop and maintain a web-based resource for the Centre. 6. To commission research in line with the CEE strategy and project manage the research Other Duties 1. To contribute to the promotion of NICVA. 2. A third level educational qualification in Economics, Social Policy, Social Research, Politics or other relevant discipline. (Please note, a qualification in Business Studies or Accountancy will not be considered relevant to this particular role. A relevant module within a qualification will not be considered to meet the criterion). 2. A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in economic development, research, public finance or social policy. 3. Experience and expertise of quantitative analysis, both primary and secondary. 4. Extensive experience of managing research projects and producing substantive reports. Desirable 5. Experience of event planning or coordination. 2 SKILLS Essential 1. Proven ability to work on own initiative and to link with a multi-disciplinary team. 2. High level of organisational skills and attention to detail. 3. Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines. 4. Excellent ICT skills (in particular relating to communications, report writing, presentations, and information management) 3 5. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner and the ability to adjust the style and content of communication to meet the needs of different stakeholders. 6. Proven ability to build and maintain effective professional working relationships with key stakeholders across the voluntary and community, public and private sectors. 3 INTEREST AND KNOWLEDGE Essential 1.
