FuoriDiTaste is the program of “outside the fair” events that brings Florence into the
heart of TASTE and features the city’s restaurants, gourmet shops, boutiques, art
galleries, theaters and museums. The full calendar will light up the city and its
places of excellence.
Starting from THURSDAY 1 ST March, on www.pittimmagine.com is online a SPECIAL
FUORIDITASTE, with the complete interactive map of all the places and events around
Florence. Stay current on the latest news!
Here is a sampling of this edition’s events and places:
- FuoriDiTaste at GUCCI CAFFÈ, the new iconic place for taste in the city
During TASTE the Gucci Caffè will be a place for discoveries, meetings and the lead
player in a series of micro-events and dedicated menus created in cooperation with
Zero Km fair’s productions such as La Molina, Storica Fattoria il Palagiaccio and La Via
del Tè. It will be an opportunity to experience a unique place in Italy with its
cosmopolitan spirit that has deep roots in Florence and to enjoy….
- RICCARDO BARTHEL presents: Merenda a Casa Barthel A Snack at the
Barthel’s and the third edition of Ortobello®
Saturday, 10 March at 5:30 p.m., Riccardo Barthel will present the new, contemporary
crafted kitchen, a warm and functional place where tradition will bring back memories of
freshly home baked cakes. Then, on Sunday 11 March from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., his
boutique-workshop will host the by now traditional appointment with Ortobello®.
Ortobello® is a 0 km food market that offers the possibility of buying locally grown
produce in the Florentine furniture company’s courtyard. Visitors can shop for
vegetables, milk and other fresh goods and then put traditional knowledge and flavors
on their tables at home. This, the third edition of Ortobello® will be enriched with talks
and programs to highlight good local practices.
- “Cake Thinking”, a solo show, featuring Marina Calamai at t he GALLERIA
DI PALAZZO COVERI
From 8 March to 16 April, at the Galleria di Palazzo Coveri, Marina Calamai will present
25 of her latest works: super-realistic interpretations of a single subject: cake, with an
introduction by critic Marco Testa. During the opening reception on Thursday, 8 March
at 6:30 p.m., Villa Marta by l’Osteria De L’Ortolano (Florence) will celebrate its 50th
anniversary with “Martarè anniversary”, a brand new version of the famous chocolate
cake. And… Veronica Belli representing the Cantina dei Colli Vicentini will offer tastes
of two outstanding wines - Spumante Lessini Durello DOC and Spumante Recioto di
Gambellara DOCG.
- Bronte and Brontë at Pampaloni
The people who create Sicilfrutti, the delights of Bronte, and Juliet Gael, aut hor of the
book Romancing Miss Bronte, will be in the Pampaloni silver shop (that had been a
bookshop founded in 1879) on Friday, 9 March, offering tastes of specialties made by
Sicilfrutti the Sicilian makers of exceptionally high quality crafted goods in which
Bronte pistachio nuts are practically ever present. And everything will be shown off to
its best in Pampaloni’s silver, and served with the stunning flatware collection “ Le Due
Sicilie” : soft torrone with Bronte pistachio nuts, pan pistacchio and peccatucci (crispy
torroncino in different flavors).
- RIVA LOFTS FLORENCE presents Champagne Update – The 2012-2013
edition of the 99 best names in Champagne
Friday, 9 March, 6:00 p.m., Riva Lofts will present the latest edition of the guidebook
that Gourmand International has elected the “Best Italian book on French Wines” in
2011. With Luca Managlia and the publisher (Ed. Estemporanee). Guests will have an
opportunity to enjoy the flavors of Riva East – Riva’s cuisine with Champagne Jean
Milan, Fleury (Heres Group).
-ZIBIBBO & Taste For Meyer
Friday 9 March, at 8:30 p.m., Ristorante Cucina Zibibbo will be holding a benefit dinner
for the Fondazione Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer – the Florence children’s hospital. An
array of dishes prepared with Tuscan nic he products, interpreted according to local
culinary traditions and presented with the chef’s own innovative touches. During the
evening, a spokesperson for the Fondazione Meyer will talk about future plans and
projects, to combine a passion for fine flavors with an important goal.
- INO "Taste nel pan'ino" [TASTE in a sandwich]
Saturday 10 March, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm, Alessandro Frassica at INO will prepare a
menu of sandwiches and wines, combining them with tea signed by Damman Frères.
- The “Six” Senses of Extra Virgin Olive Oil at J.K. PLACE
The Frantoio Franci will be bringing something special, created together with Matia
Barciulli of the Osteria di Passignano, to Florence just for TASTE. Saturday and
Sunday, 10-11 March, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., they will present Happy Oil - the Senses
of Oil – an event that breaks away from the standards used to publicize extra virgin
olive oil, using a new language that speaks directly to the senses.
Riso Acquerello, the star of “Acquerello & Ice” and Ora d’Aria
An intense program for the “Lord of Rise”, Piero Rondolino who will bring his famous
Riso Acquerello to Florence for TASTE and FuoriDiTaste. From Saturday to Monday (10
-12 March) Aquerello will be served al fresco during “Acquerello & Ice”, in unusual,
original interpretations by Simone Bonini of the Gelateria Carapina. And more: on
Monday, 12 March there will be an Ora d’Aria – a dinner planned and created by Marco
Stabile who promises a taste of Riso “dall'Acquerello alla Z ” – call it rice from A to Z!
- FuoriDiTaste at FOUR SEASONS
During TASTE, the Four Seasons Hotel Florence will host a rich program of events.
From 7:00 to 11:00 p.m., on all three days, the Ristorante Il Palagio will present
dedicated-menu tasting sessions: hand-sliced Patanegra Gran Reserva Joselito ham, a
cream of artichokes and chicken livers with Paolo Parisi’s eggs and Mortadella from
Prato, Spaghettone from the Pastificio Benedetto Cavalieri dressed with olive oil and
garlic and giblet sauce, Calvana beef glazed with balsamic vinegar from Il Borgo del

Balsamico and Savini black truffles; caramel roll with hazelnut praline, zabaione and
gianduja ice cream.
Then, every evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., in the Atrium Bar, cocktails created
specifically for FuoriDiTaste, selected wines and nibbles with products from the
Salumificio Mannori. Guests will have a chance to sample delicacies such as Calvana
game, roasted mortadella from Prato with Carmignano fig jam, and crisp vincisgrassi
with Calvana ragout.
Still on Friday 9, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., in the Sala Della Gherardesca, Gian Luca
Uccelli, the Contadi Castaldi enologist will present the wine that is most representative
of the Franciacorta area, Satèn. A unique opportunity to taste all that Franciacorta has
to offer in one evening, from Satèn to Soul Satèn”. Gastronaut Davide Paolini will be the
host for the evening.
Sunday, 11 March, at 7:30 p.m., in the Lobby Lounge L’Orangerie: “Metropolitan” a
cocktail hour with Joselito. Jose Gomez – Joselito to his friends, and king of Patanegra,
will present a selection of processed meats: chorizo, lomo, salsichon, Paleta, Iberian
ham from Bellota, risotto made with spumante and Patanegra, Fusilloro Verrigni alla
carbonara with Spanish streaky bacon and wines from Contadi Castaldi – and to top it
off, gin & tonic made to Jose’s own recipe.
- PANETTONE PARTY – Mangia “panettone tutto l’anno - Enjoy “panettone
all year long” with the Gastronaut!
Saturday, 10 March, from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m., the Obikà Mozzarella bar will host a
tasting session-party dedicated to craft panettone served with ice -cream, wine and
bubbly. A unique opportunity to taste panettone and the Gastronaut’s extravagant
combinations – for any time, from snack to after supper. And, don’t miss the “Vota il Tuo
Panettone - Vote for your favorite panettone” contest .

_ Agrimontana, Damman Frères & Domori: the Gruppo Illy at FuoriDiTaste
The Gruppo Illy has prepared a rich program just for FuoriDiTaste. Saturday, 10 March
from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m., fine Damman Frères teas will be the theme for breakfast at
Rivoire – with jams by Agrimontana. Sunday, 11 March from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., they will
be the stars of the “Tea time…il Tempo del tè” tasting session at the Hotel St. Regis.
And… on 10 March from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Stazione Leopolda, Domori will
present the tasting session: “Ladies and Gentlemen, sua Maestà il Cacao Criollo Ladies and Gentlemen, his majesty, Criollo Cocoa ”, prepared by Gianluca Franzoni, the
Hidalgo of chocolate. Then, starting at 8:00 Domori chocolate will be served with the
late harvest Bortys di Mastroijanni Moscadello – at the Cenacolo del Pescatore.
CORDON BLEU presents , “Mamma, il Baccalà lo Cucino io!” Mom, I’ll cook
the codfish
From 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday 10 March, aspiring cooks aged from 9 to 13 will learn
how to cook baccalà – salted codfish prepared by Ghezzi Alimentari, Vinci. The
rendezvous is at the Scuola di Arte Culinaria Cordon Bleu. Fun and fantasy in thr ee
recipes for the most versatile and flavorful fish used in Italian menus.

-MILORD presents “Morbidi Piaceri, Balsamiche Voluttà” Smooth
Pleasures, Balsamic Temptations
On Saturday, 10 March, the historic Milord Fashion House In Florence, will host a
delightful cocktail session of smooth flavors, surrounded by soft fabrics. Italian hands
that make balsamic vinegar, beer and Parmigiano cheese, will be there, alongside of
the masters of made-to-measure tailoring as you enjoy products from Acetaia La
Bonissima, Caseificio Gennari and Birra del Borgo.
- Flavors of Tradition at the MACELLERIA VIGNOLI
Saturday, 10 March, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Macelleria Vignoli will host a tasting session
featuring olive oil and wines from the Azienda Agricola Il Casalone Vignoli, conducted
by Luca Socci, agronomist and head of the olive oil tasting panel at the Florence
Chamber of Commerce. And of course, there will be meats prepared by the butcher:
sbriciolona, headcheese and roast pork in Chianti wine .
-Three excellences of Trentino in Florence
Saturday 10 th March, at the Restaurant Palagio 59 (Palagio sull’Arno), the products of
three excellences of the Trentino Alto Adige - such as Pastificio Felicetti, Trota Oro and
Ferrari Spumanti - will be protagonist of a special dinner interpreted for the occasion by
the Chef Peter Brunel and his staff.
- FuoriDiTaste goes one step beyond with Fish & Beers at the 4NERO
Concept Store
Sunday, 11 March starting at 7:30 p.m., the 4NERO Concept Store will launch a series
of evenings dedicated to edgy combinations: oysters and beer. A tasting sessions
featuring sea food and beer that began with the presentation of the first beer produced
from the union with the renowned Fines de Claires no. 2 Oysters: Perle ai Porci, made
by Birra del Borgo. It will all be in an innovative setting by 4NERO and Zani e Zani: a
temporary kitchen that will host the chef for the evening, Lorenzo Corsini from Trattoria
del Pesce. With the collaboration of Pastificio dei Campi.
PASTIFICIO GENTILE and the new PGI Spaghettone I.G.P.
Pastificio Gentile di Gragnano presents the preview of its new pasta, Lo SpaghettOne
P.G.I.: a unique, 2.7 mm diameter pasta!. The hand processed Fusilli, Paccheri and
Spaghettone will be served with tomato sauce made by San Nicola de i Miri; the place is
the Golden View Open Bar, on Sunday 11 March, at 8:30 p.m.. By invitation only.
-“Il film è servito” The Movie is Served: the show by Leonardo Romanelli at
the Teatro Puccini
Sunday, 11 March, 9:00 p.m., at the Teatro Puccini, Leonar do Romanelli, wine-and-food
critic will abolish the myth that movie houses are the domain of popcorn and potato
chips. He will present “The Movie is Served”: a performance starting food and great
films. The audience will be able to watch cuts from famous m ovies – after having tasted
quality wines and foods. During the screening, there will be a chance to chat freely
about the links between food and the movie world./ Durante la proiezione, chiacchiere in
libertà sui legami tra food e mondo del cinema Ci semb ra strano che si possa
chiacchierare durante la proiezione! .
- BALADIN Drink’n Roll
Birra Baladin and Rolling Stone Magazine will celebrate the launch of “Open Rolling
Stone” beer. Master brewer Teo Musso will talk about this new beer during a rock music
event, at the UB Concept Store on Sunday 11 March starting at 9:00 p.m.

- Joselito Speaks Japan at MAGARI … VINO BISTROT
Monday 12 March, Magari … Vino Bistrot will present a tasting -menu dinner featuring a
unique blend of Spain and Japan: Joselito’s Iberian Jamon will dress up in sushi clothes
“Jose-maki”, “Jose-shimi” and “Jose-rolls”.
And also other events that will involve interesting location such as:
