APPLICATION FOR COLLECTION OF WASTE
Conditions of scheme
A secure location is required for temporarily storing the waste to prevent illegal dumping where
waste is left for collection.
Grass sods, soil, builder’s rubble, blocks, stones and similar items cannot be taken as they are
not acceptable at the Council waste facility.
Waste must be segregated as follows:
 All recyclable materials should be placed in bags clearly marked “Recycling” This
includes green waste (shrubs branches and twigs –no grass), glass bottles, cans, plastic
bottles, metals etc.
 Waste for landfill (non-recyclable) should be placed in black bags (i.e. litter, sweepings
etc.).
Mixed waste will not be collected by council staff. The council does not currently have the
resources to separate mixed waste, so this has to happen at the time of the clean-up.
