Below are some questions/suggestions that you should be familiar with for the exam.
Don’t forget to bring a scantron to the exam.
Please email me with questions, should they arise.
Biology 11 - Unit III Review Sheet
1. Compare and contrast DNA with RNA. How do they differ structurally? How are
their functions different?
2. What are the components of a single nucleotide? Dow we find nucleotides in both
RNA and DNA?
3. Be able to go between DNA  DNA, DNA  RNA and RNA  RNA.
4. What are the three types of RNA? What is the function of each?
5. What is the difference between transcription and translation?
6. Be able to translate codons into amino acids.
7. Please be familiar with genotype, phenotype, allele, dominant, recessive,
complete dominance, incomplete dominance, sex-linked traits and co-dominance.
8. Know how to work Punnett squares.
9. Understand Mendel’s laws.
10. Know the stages of aerobic cellular respiration. Where do they occur and what is
the purpose of each stage?
11. What is the difference between oxidation and reduction reactions? Know the
synonyms for each reaction.
12. What is ATP used for? What is glucose used for?
13. What are NADPH and FADH2?
14. Name the three types of energy and the difference between each.
15. Know the first and second laws of thermodynamics.
* Remember all lab material is also fair game for the exam.
