What makes a winner power or conviction? 1 Samuel 17:4 - And there came out from the camp of the Philistines a champion named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 1 Samuel 17:51 - Then David ran and stood over the Philistine, and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath, and killed him, and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. There is an amazing story between verse 4 and 51. In verse 4 the obvious winner would have been Goliath because of his power and size. In verse 56 we find out David was the winner because of his conviction that he wasn’t alone. God was with him and would guide him to victory. You are probably facing giants in you life today. Some are external: money needs, job loss, something you’ve done or maybe something someone has done to you. Your giants may be internal such as sickness, fear, worry or lack of self esteem. Your not alone, God is here to help you but you have to trust him. The scripture Psalms 112:7&8 in Living Bible says; He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him. That is why he is not afraid but can calmly face his foes. Have you settled it in your mind that God will take care f you? Are you one of those people who think God needs your help to make sure things stay on track? Start trusting God because the creator of the heavens and earth can handle your problems. Start today and practice 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. You are a winner no matter how everything appears because Jesus gained the victory for us. Keep trusting in God and don’t let anyone or anything distract you. You are the winner because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross.
