You are going to research a genetic disorder. I have provided a list of possible disorders. You may pick
one of mine or you may find your own. Your family may have a common genetic disorder that you want
to know more about. (If you choose your own, I need to approve it before you begin)
 You need to use TWO different sources to find your information. You need to site those
sources.
 Please answer the following…
o What is the name of your genetic disorder?
o What causes this genetic disorder?
o What are the symptoms of this genetic disorder?
o How old do people live if they have this disorder?
o Is there any medical treatment available? If so, describe.
o Providing a picture…you must give the source of your picture.
I expect this to be neatly written or typed. This is a scientific report so you need to include only facts.
DO NOT COPY YOUR SOURCES WORD FOR WORD…This will result in a zero!!
You may present your information as simply as writing it out using complete sentences OR you can
create a pamphlet, PowerPoint presentation, poster, glogster, etc.
Possible choices…Down’s syndrome, Kleinfelter’s syndrome, Turner syndrome, Apert syndrome, Cystic
fibrosis, Alkaptanuria, Phenylketonuria, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, Marfan syndrome, Tay-Sachs,
Wilson’s disease (you can also go to Google and search for genetic disorders)
