Holidays in School Time
Please remember that No Holiday can be authorised during school term time and any unauthorized will be subject to a penalty notice from KCC. This is line with our school policy which is available from our website. All children need to be in school in May for SATS week.
PE Kits
Please can you ensure PE Kits are in school with trainers every day, NAMED.
The children go out even when it is cold so tracksuit bottoms are a must!! For PE and sports, children need to wear a white T Shirt (not their school polo shirts) and black shorts/tracksuit bottoms with plimsolls or trainers.
After School Clubs
Sorry , there will be no construction club on a
Wednesday this term. Green Gang has also moved to lunch times. Mrs Gambrill would love any old magazines, old dry seeds, beans and lentils etc !
Consortium Chess Tournament
We are currently the consortium chess champions and have been for a few years. The next tournament is at Ash,Cartwright and Kelsey on Monday 27th Jan 2014, at 4pm . It would be great to send a team from Goodnestone this year. If you would like to represent the school at chess please see Siobhan in the Office for more details. It would need a parent or two to help Mr

Kent Science Fair – Canterbury College
The Amazing Kent Festival of Science Returns to
Canterbury on February 19th and 20th 2014
Two days of science and technology fun for all the family. Tickets limited so booking advisable.

Times: 09.30-03.30 daily

Also, if parents register their details with www.kent.gov.uk/winter , they can receive a text or email once the school has registered on the local radio central register. So that the children don’t miss out their learning, teachers have produced a bank of activities you may wish your child to complete.
These will be posted on the website shortly. Paper copies will also be available should you prefer.
Safer Internet Day - 11th February 2014
The children will be learning about how to stay safe while on the internet, be it at home or in school, and where to seek advice. We hope to run a workshop for parents too.
