ECO-REP PROJECT SHEET 2:
REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

The project sheets will guide you in your weekly activities. You can do the activities in any
order you want.
If you don't get to everything listed on the sheet, please just leave it blank. DON'T MAKE
UP ANSWERS!
We will use the information you collect during the semester to analyze the program and to
improve it for the next semester. So please be careful and complete when you fill them out.
1. Help with Recycling
This week you’ll help with recycling. The Recycling Coordinator is Dawn Quirk. If you have questions, email her at recycle@tufts.edu
You will be assigned several dorms and/or class buildings. You will check the recycling situation in each
building.
Recycling bins should always be close to a trash bin.
Each recycling bin should:
 have a sticker on each side
 have a wall sign
 have a lid
Please visit each of the assigned buildings and check for:
Wall signs: all bins should be under the correct wall sign. If it has been ripped off or defaced, please replace
it (The red double-stick tape is a bit hard to get off, but it really sticks well!) If you have to take off an
existing sign, be very careful. Take it off slowly so you don’t rip the wall!
Some buildings do not have signs (we are not allowed to have them). These include: Ballou, Dowling,
Fletcher School, Tisch. Do not put up signs there!
Sticker: All bins should have the correct label on both sides. Use a student ID to attach the stickers. Flatten
bubbles and wrinkles.
Lid: Make sure each bin has the correct lid. Please add a lid, if needed.
Bins: You might find a location that needs a bin. (The bins are called “slim jims).
We do want to to replace bins and lids. But please beware that lids and bins are expensive. One Slim Jim is
about $25. One lid is about $17. Each sticker is about $1.50
If there are signs or lids missing, come to the recycling office (in TIE) pick up the materials you need. Slim
Jims are in Anja’s office. Lids, signs and labels are in Dawns office.
Please use the table on the back to note everything you replaced.
