Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Farrowing Section

Checking the people on duty if they are present and doing their assigned
works on time.

Checking the ventilation if they are functioning properly in accordance with
the condition of the animal and the age where they belong to.

Check if feeding schedule was observed on time.

Make sure that sow feeders are filled with water after every feeding.

Ensure proper updating of records in the farrowing room (feed monitoring,
sow health monitoring, daily farrowing record, etc.)

Assist in sows while farrowing

Do Obstetric Aid if needed

Assist in piglet processing (tail docking, ear notching, teeth clipping, and
tattooing).

Assist in sows farrowing

Look, think, and act immediately to the piglets that are supposed to be
fostered.

Do some booster feeding in piglets.

Assist in fostering and early weaning of problematic sows.

Responsible for culling of sows if observed to have a poor performance in
the farrowing section.

Spot early signals of lactation problems.

Respond immediately to signals of problems (disease)

Assist during vaccination, medication, weighing and weaning.

Do sows feeding adjustment from transfer until lactating period

Filling of water to the sow feeder every after feeding

Do barn cleaning

Look and evaluate the people if they did their work properly.

Assure if the protocols or routines of the section is properly implemented.

Have a night duty if needed.

Do the actual inventory of animals in the section.

Do the daily recordings.

Update the farm manager and officer in-charge with the daily
performance.

Monitoring of every room, pen by pen, sow per sow, piglet per piglet.

Monitoring the health status of the animals and checking if given proper
treatment/medication.

