Professional development credits (sometimes referred to as non-degree graduate
credits) are earned by K-12 educators for re-licensing and for lane changes on school
district salary schedules.
All professional development credits are approved by the appropriate academic
college and department at the University of North Dakota.
In order for a course to be approved for professional development credits, it must
be taught by an instructor with a master's degree or higher.
One credit is awarded for every 15 hours of direct instructional contact time.
At UND, professional development credits cannot be applied toward any degree
program.

PBS DESIGN SQUAD
Engineers have led a technological revolution that has improved the quality of our lives,
yet many kids and adults alike do not understand how the technology they use in their
daily lives works. They are also unclear about the engineer's role in society or even what
an engineer does.
Design Squad is one of the few places on TV where kids can learn about engineering.
The specific educational goals of the Design Squad television series, web site and
outreach events are to: increase students' knowledge of engineering and the design
process, improve the public image of engineering, encourage further exploration. Free
teacher guides are available. Go to: http://pbskids.org/designsquad/engineers/
