EYP Welcomes Industry Veteran Jeffrey Schantz
As Science & Technology Leader
BOSTON, Mass., May. 19, 2015 – EYP Architecture and Engineering announced that Jeffrey Lee
Schantz, AIA, NCARB, recently joined the firm as Science & Technology Leader for EYP’s emerging
Science & Technology practice, serving clients in academic, higher education, institutional, corporate,
technology and government sectors. As an architect and recognized industry thought leader, Schantz
brings more than 30 years of expertise in programming, planning, design and strategic consulting to
the firm. His work includes planning and design for landmark science and technology facilities for
leading research organizations around the world.

integral part of shaping the success of EYP’s rapidly growing science and technology portfolio,” said

proven leadership in areas such as convergence sciences, applied sciences and engineering, public
health and academic medical centers will enable EYP to further our commitment to providing excellent
service to our clients through high-performance design.”
As Science & Technology Sector Leader, Schantz will serve as the firm’s senior science and
technology strategist in the planning and design of highly technical building types, such as biomedical
research facilities, biotechnology and pharmaceutical buildings and medical research laboratories.
Prior to joining EYP, he held principal-level science practice leadership positions at some of the
nation’s largest architectural firms, responsible for the development of notable science buildings such
as the Jackson Laboratory for Medical Genomics building in Farmington, Connecticut; Kavli

A member of several industry organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA),
Schantz is a registered architect in Georgia, New York, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina,
Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, New Jersey, Florida and Illinois. He received his Bachelor
of Fine Arts in architecture from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, and his
master’s degree in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge,
Massachusetts.
