Scheme of Technology Upgradation/Setting up /Modernisation /Expansion of Food Processing Industries I. Scheme of food Processing i.The Ministry has decentralised the implementation of the Scheme for Technology Upgradation /Establishment /Modernisation of Food Processing Industries, w.e.f. April 1, 2007. i. SIDBI appointed as one of the nodal agencies for implementation. ii. The eligible units covered under the Bank’s Direct Credit Scheme. iii. No PLI co-opted under the scheme. II.Objective & Scope of the Scheme i. Aims at upgradation of processing capabilities of sectors in food processing viz., fruits and vegetables, milk products, meat, poultry, fishery, cereal /other consumer food products, oilseed products and other agri-horticultural sectors including food flavours, colours etc. are covered under the Scheme. III. Amount of Assistance & Eligibility i. Grant of 25% of the cost of plant & machinery and technical civil works subject to a maximum of Rs.50 lakhs in general areas and 33% up to Rs.75 lakh in difficult areas ( Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, NorthEastern States, Andaman & Nocobar Isalands, Lakshwadeep and Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP areas). IV. Progress review as on December 31,2014 Cumulative processing/ disbursement of grant since inception of the scheme stood at `.10.60 crore to 55 cases. *****
