PLEASE SAVE AND POST
The City of Fall River’s curbside yard waste collection season will take place from
May 6 to December 10, 2009. Yard waste will be collected according to the schedule below.

Please place yard waste at the curb after 6:00 p.m. the day before or by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the yard waste collection.
Yard waste is not picked-up during a holiday week.
RESIDENTIAL DROP-OFFS AT THE CITY GARAGE, 10 LEWISTON STREET – NO CONTRACTORS OR LANDSCAPERS.
During the yard waste season, brush, leaves and grass ONLY will be accepted at the City Garage free of charge Monday through Friday
of non-holiday weeks from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
CURBSIDE AND DROP-OFF INSTRUCTIONS
 Brush must be bundled and tied and shall not exceed 3 feet in length and 2.5 inches in diameter.
 Leaves or grass must be in barrels (not to exceed 35 gallons or 50 pounds,) boxes or paper leaf bags.
 There is a limit of 15 bags, boxes or barrels per week. No plastic bags, please.
Paint Shed Schedule
Friday, May 1 to Saturday, October 31
Paint, paint thinner, varnishes, and stains accepted.
Oil Shed Schedule
Year Round for Fall River
and Somerset Residents
Automotive oil, diesel fuel, transmission fluid, and rear
differential fluid accepted.
Paint and oil drop-offs will be accepted at the City Garage, 10 Lewiston Street
on the first Friday of the month and the first Saturday of the month.
Other Collections
Large appliances, computers, televisions can be picked-up curbside or dropped off at the City Garage year round.
Refrigerators, Air Conditioners $11.00 Microwave Ovens $6.00 TVs and Computer Monitors $10.00
Accepted at the City Garage Only:
Tires can be dropped off year round. Auto tires: $2.50 Truck tires: $7.00
Propane tanks: $2.00
Mercury containing devices, batteries, including lead acid batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and
smoke detectors are accepted free of charge.
The City Garage, located at 10 Lewiston Street, is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Allied Waste Services holds a free Household Hazardous Waste day once a year. Call Betsey Westell for details.
