INFORMATION NOTE FOR MEMBERS:

SWEDISH GRID / INCLINED SEPARATOR PANEL

APPLICATIONS FOR VIIa – DATE EXTENDED TO JULY 10TH

1.7.09

The ad below is on the DAFF website from today (July 1).

The date has been extended due to appeals from a number of fishermen for additional time to evaluate what, if anything, they should do regarding Separator Panels or Swedish Grids.

Vessels which apply for the use of one of the gears will be required to use the nominated gear while fishing in VIIa for the remainder of the year, but will be awarded additional days as indicated.

Depending on monitoring and assessment of results from gear usage, vessels may be in line for exemption from KW/days in 2010 depending on the percentage of total catch of Cod associated with the use of such gears.
