Congratulations to Dr. Christopher Phelps, awarded an honorable mention in prestigious LGBT history
competition

The Committee on LGBT History announced the winners this past weekend at the annual meeting of the
American Historical Association. Dr. Phelps' article is titled "The Closet in the Party: The Young Socialist
Alliance, the Socialist Workers Party, and Homosexuality, 1962-1970" and was published in Labor: Studies
in Working-Class History of the Americas. He is American Studies associate professor and an associate
with the Centre for Research in Race and Rights associate.
