Invitation to the 11th European Conference on psychological theory and research on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ECIDD). Dear colleague, We are very pleased to invite you to attend to the 11th European Conference on psychological theory and research on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, taking place at the University of Lille (France) from Thursday, July 7, until Saturday, July 9, 2016. ECIDD was first established in 1996 in Aix-en-Provence (France) under the name PTRMR. The main themes of this conference are psychological aspects of intellectual and related developmental disabilities. This biennial conference offers a forum for the exchange of findings in psychological fundamental and applied research on intellectual and developmental disabilities. The conference aims at extending our understanding of causes and conditions of intellectual disabilities, advancing our knowledge on successful prevention and intervention procedures, and promote collaboration among researchers. Scientific Programme The scientific programme will include, invited keynote lectures, oral presentations, symposia and posters presentations. The keynote speakers are: o Debbie Riby (University of Durham, UK) o Gaia Scerif (University of Oxford, UK) o Marc Tassé (The Ohio State University Nisonger Center, USA) The oral presentations will be scheduled for 30 minutes, which includes 20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for the questions. Researchers who work on a similar topic are invited to submit a proposal for a symposium. Each symposium consists of four presentations comprising a talk (20 minutes) and a discussion (10 minutes). At the end of each symposium a time slot of 15 minutes is scheduled for a general discussion. The poster presentations will be grouped into several thematic poster sessions. Call for proposals Deadline for submitting a proposal of an oral presentation, a symposium, or a poster is January 31, 2016. The conference is supposed to offer the opportunity to present results of empirical research on intellectual and developmental disabilities. The presentations should also relate to issues of psychological and/or educational application. Proposals have to be submitted in English. A proposal should include: Title of the contribution Full first name(s) and family name(s), address (institution, city, country), email addresses of contributors Preference for a paper or a poster presentation A short abstract of 250 – 300 words An extended summary of 750 – 1,000 words, describing in detail the aims (purpose of the study and the hypotheses), methods (setting, participants, intervention, type of statistical analysis), findings of the study (including statistical significance), conclusions (discussion of the data) 1 Two or three keywords All proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and may be selected for either oral or poster presentation. The decision bases on the submitted summaries. The abstracts of all accepted presentations will be published online on the Internet as well as in an abstract booklet which will be provided to the participants. Please ensure that the abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical, or scientific errors, because it will be published exactly as submitted. Proposals should be typed in Times New Roman 12 pts, single-spaced. The left margin should be 3 cm, the right margin 2 cm. Page numbers or tabulators should not be used.
