Re:
Fellows Responsibilities for Hematology Conference - Format
2011-2012
The Hematology Conference will be each Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
It will usually be held in the ACB Auditorium.
The format is outlined below:
1 Friday- assigned to HemePath by Al Martin (he gets to pick the given
Friday well in advance)
1 Friday- assigned to Outside Speaker (of the available 3 Fridays after
Dr. Al Martin has his pick)
1 Friday- the fellow of the month has to do a didactic talk with
emphasis on basic science hematology with some clinical correlation
(earlier of the 'leftover' 2 Fridays)
1 Friday- the University/JHNorton/BMT fellows to present 3 interesting
'Consult Cases' from inpatient service- one from each service (this
should be preferably later of the 'leftover' Fridays & assigned
fellow must inform the Univ/JH/No/BMT fellow at the starting of the
month)..
Any additional Friday OR if no outside speaker for that month- the
assigned fellow of the month either asks 'Inside' faculty to give a
1
lecture or presents a second talk himself/herself OR arranges with
Univ/JH/No/BMT fellow to do a second 'Consult Cases'.
Fellows should get in touch with Dawn Grant, 2-3 months in advance
and let her know their plan for their respective month. Also please let
Dawn know the title of your presentation on the Friday before your
scheduled presentation.
If the fellows have questions they should contact the Chief Fellow.
