Description

The website is a great explanation of
the water cycle. It demonstrates how
the water we drink each day is rain
water and how it gets to our cups.
http://www.epa.gov/superfund/kids/earthday. This website provides a good
htm#
introduction about why we celebrate
Earth Day. This site also provides a
good list of resources for kids to use.
I think it is important that students
use books to support what the
internet tells them.
http://www.epa.gov/kids/index.htm
This website provides the students a
variety of environmental factors that
play a part in our life and community.
I think that this site provides a fun
method for students to learn through
games and pictures.
http://www.ecokidsonline.com/pub/index.cfm A very good informational site. It has
fun games to refresh kids’ memories

of the things they must be doing in
order to protect our environment.
This also is a Canadian site so
anything dealing with degrees is in
Celsius not Fahrenheit.
This site is really useful because it not
only provides information through
pictures and text, but videos. It
shows kids who go out in the real
world to interview and talk to adults
about different environmental factors.
This webpage opens to an interactive
picture for students to access or find
information about particular subjects
and focuses. I like the idea that
students can you the parts of the
picture to navigate their way
throughout the site.
This webpage is a fun and cheerful
site. They use very bright colors and
good pictures. I think the site keeps
its reader intrigued through their use
of pictures and colors. It also
provides a good amount of
information about garbage!
This website provides students with a
wealth of information on energy. I
like the idea that as opposed to games
they have riddles about energy. Kids
love riddles!
A very good site that contains a lot of
information on a variety of areas.
Celebrations
Unfortunately the website has not
been updated since 1991.
Time for Kids
http://www.timeforkids.com/TFK/kids/news/s Time for Kids includes great articles
tory/0,28277,1607550,00.html
for students to learn from. The article
“Talking Trash” truly will help students
to understand the amount of wasted
garbage and what they could do as
citizens of this country.
USGS – BRD Features
http://biology.usgs.gov/features/kidscorner/ki This site provides fun resources for

students to learn and understand new
concepts. The stories can help
children to relate to nature in terms of
text to self.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife

visualize all the different plant and
animal species they are learning
about. It helps students to make
connections to the life in which they
live.
EERE: Roofus’s Solar
http://www1.eere.energy.gov/kids/roofus/
This a fun site because it
and Efficient Home
demonstrates new concepts to
students through pictures. Kids like to
choose what they want or feel like
choosing and then reading about a
selected amount of information rather
than an abundance of information all
at once. This is a good site because it
allows students to read about specific
areas.
National Geographic Kids http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/
This website is fun and very
interactive. Students will be able to
view videos, play games, and read
