Special Session 1: Social media and social commerce in Cloud - SMSCC 2013 Introduction Web 2.0 applications and social media have transformed the web into an interactive sharing platform, where users upload data and media, comment on and share this content within their social circles. Social media includes web-based and mobile technologies used to turn communication into interactive dialogue between organizations, communities, and individuals. Social media include Internet forums, weblogs, social blogs, wikis, podcasts, photographs or pictures, video, rating and social bookmarking. Social commerce is the use of social media, in the context of e-commerce, to assist with buying and selling products and services online. It evokes the fusion of two big digital trends, e-commerce and social media. Social media and social commerce also need cloud environment for supporting. This special session aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to present original research and current results in the context of internet based social media and social commerce in cloud. We are looking forward to receive research work on innovative aspects of the related areas. Topics Both review paper and technical paper are expected. The topics include but are not limited to: ◆ Social media technologies and applications ◆ Social computing theories and models in cloud ◆ Social network analysis ◆ Social media in human computation systems ◆ Social cloud computing ◆ The use of social networks and social networking concepts in e-Science ◆ Mobile social services ◆ User interfaces and interaction for social commerce ◆ Behavior analysis in social commerce Submission The papers will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press, available in the conference. All published papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore database and indexed by well-known databases. The paper should be formatted according to IEEE Author Kit format. And, the PDF paper should be submitted to MINES 2013's online submission system(SMSCC 2013), or mines.submission@gmail.com with title “SMSCC 2013”. The accepted papers will be published in the MINES 2013 conference proceedings, which will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press, available in the conference, and indexed by EI Compendex and ISTP . The revised or extended versions of the best papers presented in the session will be invited to some refereed international journals.
