A cool evening breeze wafts across the front porch as people from all walks of life gather to celebrate John Moore Jr.’s decision to hand over the deed to his magnificent house. As the festivities begin, a murder is brought to light. The shady secrets of guests emerge -- looking a lot like motives – and event attendees have to solve the mystery! Set for Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1 from 7 to 9 p.m., the “Murder and Moore” event is put on jointly by the Fort Bend Museum and Rosenberg’s Cast Theatrical Company. Though the storyline is fiction, the event is held inside the 1883 historic Moore Home. Guests will enjoy appetizers and libations on the side veranda before entering the home to gather clues and solve the mystery. A prize will be given to the first person to correctly solve the mystery! “This event has been such a huge success and all of our guests have such a fun time running around and finding all the clues,” said Museum Site Manager Shereen Sampson. The Moore Home is located at 406 South Fifth Street in Richmond, on the grounds of the Fort Bend Museum. Tickets are $45 per person or $85 per couple; members of the Fort Bend County Museum Association receive a reduced ticket price of $40 per person or $75 per couple.
