Saint Mary Magdalen Celebrates First Holy Communion
Media, PA. On Saturday, October 17, 2009, sixty-five third grade children from St. Mary Magdalen
Parish received the Sacrament of First Communion in a beautiful ceremony. Despite the rainy
weather, the children radiated with joy and anticipation of receiving the Holy Eucharist for the first
time before a church filled with proud family and friends. According to Bob Ciampitti, grandfather
of first communicant, Nicolas Ciampitti, “Catching a glimpse of all the children preparing to receive
the Body of Christ for the first time, and looking at the faces of all the family and friends present to
witness their special child advance in the mystery of faith, I could hardly hold back a tear of joy and
pride in watching as this blessed event unfolded.” Members of the St. Mary Magdalen First
Communion Class of 2009 included: Thomas Barker, Daniel Bastian, Luke Bauwens, Reese Benonis,
