Meet Recap
At the ESU Jock’s Nitch Invitational in Emporia, KS, on September 27, 2007, the men had seven athletes compete in the 8K race and
were lead by junior Nhial Malia who ran a personal best 28:13. Following him were: freshman Yaphete Msgna, who competed in his
first collegiate race and finished in 30:29; junior Phil Elbein, who finished in 30:35; junior Hugo Escobar, who finished in 30:51;
freshman Rene Barboza, who also competed in his first collegiate race and finished in 32:07; and sophomore Adam Rains, who ran a
season best 37:01. Senior Derek Bartlett did not finish the race after stepping in a hole after the second mile. The men will compete
on October 6, 2007, at the McPherson Invitational at the McPherson Country Club.

Leading the women at the ESU Jock’s Nitch Invitational in Emporia, KS, on September 27, 2007, was junior RaChelle Gaylord who
ran a personal best time of 21:42 on the 5K course. She was followed by: freshman Morgan Salter, who ran a personal best 22:41;
sophomore Stephanie Wilson, who ran a season best 23:47; junior Priyanka Dixit, who ran a personal best 24:05; senior Erin Gutsch,
who ran a season best 25:18; sophomore Gilda Alvarez, who ran a season best 25:25; and junior Sarah Helm, who competed in her
first collegiate race and ran 25:43. On October 6, 2007, the women will compete at the McPherson Invitational at the McPherson
Country Club.
