Guidelines for the Career Fair 1. Pick up a copy of the Career Fair booklet. It will include the profiles and locations of all the Organizations at the Fair. 2. Read the brief descriptions of the organizations you chose in the Career Fair booklet to familiarize yourself with their general overviews. 3. You need to visit at least three organizations. Go to their table, introduce yourself (“Hi, my name is ________, and I am a (freshman/sophomore/junior) in the College of Engineering”) – don’t forget to shake their hand! 4. Ask at least one question—here are some example questions: · I am a freshman/sophomore/junior engineering student and I am majoring in “X” major. Are you interested in recruiting “X” major? If so, how can “X” major help me in this field? · I am a freshman/sophomore/junior, and I am interested in working for a company such as yours. What type of activities should I involve myself in now to make myself an attractive candidate in the future? · I am a freshman/sophomore/junior and am interested in finding out about internship opportunities. Do you hire interns? 1. If “yes” then – What qualities do you look for in potential new intern hires? What is a typical day like as an intern in your company? 2. If “no” then – What value do you place on an internship experience when you are recruiting for fulltime positions? 5. Thank Organization for their time. 6.
