partner with California’s legendary Beringer Vineyards to bring wine country to the tropics.
The evolving program is designed to enhance the guest experience through delicious wines,
wine-centered entertainment and superior wine service standards.
Guests can enjoy an expanded selection of four complimentary house wines, bottled
exclusively for Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts by Beringer Stone Cellars, including a
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Approachable and easy to
drink, these wines were selected for their ability to pair well with island cuisine. Additionally,
great new wines from Beringer’s portfolio-mates from California, Australia, Italy and New
Zealand, with additional offerings from France and Spain, are available through an enhanced
Manager’s Wine List at all signature Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts restaurants. The
Chairman’s Wine List of celebratory wines offer the crème de la crème, including wines from
some of Beringer’s most highly respected sister wine estates: Chateau St. Jean, Etude,
Penfolds, and Stags’ Leap Winery.
The exclusive partnership offers guests the opportunity to expand their knowledge of wine
through wine pairings courses, weekly wine and cheese receptions and wine trivia games. A
weekly, five-course “Vineyard Dinner pairing the chef’s creations with selections from the
Manager’s Wine List, will illustrate to guests how certain wines compliment specific foods.
Extensive Staff Training
Every server and bartender at every Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resort participate in an
extensive three-level wine training program appropriately named the Beringer Platinum Wine
Certification program, designed exclusively for Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts.
Measured through standardized quizzes and evaluation, completion of Level I of the
certification covers the basics of tableside service, glassware selection, wine list advice,
winemaking, growing and appreciation and is mandatory for all wine-serving staff. Once
complete, staff may continue to the more rigorous Level II at the Nightingale School in
Napa, Calif. and eventually, Level III that includes master sommelier Level I certification,
taught by top U.S. master sommelier instructors.
