We have been honoured by the presence of the Founding Wines of Europe in China from May 13 th
to 15 th
2014.
The Founding Wines of Europe is a comity of Top Brands from Europe. All together, they want to promote the uniqueness of their
Family origin European wines . 8 Brands from 4 countries to embody the European identity:
- Spain: Marques de Riscal; Bodegas Ysios and Campo Viejo
- Italy: Casa Vinicola Zonin
- Portugal: Sogrape
- France: Piper Heidsieck (Champagne), Bouchard Père et Fils (Burgundy), Château de Berne (Provence) and Ampelidae (Loire
Valley)
They came in China to introduce and share with the Chinese market their wines and values : terroir, lifestyle and legacy . The
Founding Wines chose China for this first visit because it is the future of the wine world, both as a leading producing country as a growing consumer market for their brands. They are confident that the Chinese producers, gatekeepers and consumers will appreciate their values and wish to develop long term relations with their brands.
During these 3 days they met targeted local press and main Chinese players of the food & beverage industry throught 5 actions:
- A dedicated collective booth on the 2014 SIAL Shanghai exhibition to interact with the Chinese marketplace. On this booth, one to one meetings have been organized to meet Chinese importers, distributors, sommeliers and F&B managers and medias.
- In the Wine Innovation Forum (WIF) program, 4 Master classes have been dedicated to the Founding Wines of Europe and animated by Debra Meiburg (Master of Wine) & Martin Hao (Founder of HappyVino Wine Education).
- Press workshop at the House of Roosevelt Wine Cellar with 15 journalists. A one hour workshop including wine tasting to create an intimate and convivial encounter with press specialized in gastronomy, wine and lifestyle.
- Gala Diner at the House of Roosevelt Restaurant: the 50 guests enjoyed an exceptional food and wine pairing so that to reveal the uniquess of each wine, commented by the members of the delegation
- They organized a Summit Meeting with the seven Top Chinese Wineries , selected by TastedSpirit and Shanghai Morning
Post with an impressive international jury (Jancis Robinson, Bernard Burtschy …)
