Job Purpose
SportBU is offering a new and exciting Varsity Sports Videographer role. This role will be instrumental
in providing video coverage of the wide variety of Varsity sports and events offered by the University.
The aim of this position is to provide professional level student led material for use within publications,
SportBU promotions and to increase exposure of SportBU and the Varsity Programme.
Main Responsibilities







To provide high quality videos of SportBU Varsity sport matches on Wednesday afternoons
To provide coverage at local and national sporting events including; Bournemouth Sports Relief
Mile, UK Ultimate Beach Nationals, BUCS Volleyball Championship Finals, SportBU Sports Ball.
To attend occasional training sessions and other events at the request of the sport development
team.
To attend a variety of different sports locations to ensure all sports are videoed.
To assist in the selection and editing of videos.
Be responsible for the booking and using of relevant Media School equipment
Adhere to university regulations for permissions relating to videoing students

SELECTION CRITERIA
Knowledge (including experience & qualifications
Experience of taking both indoor and outdoor sport action videos
A sound understanding and experience of using video editing programs
Knowledge of sport and spectatorship
Experience of using social media
A good understanding of the Varsity Sports Programme
Working towards a degree or appropriate knowledge in a related subject
Skills
Good communication skills. Needs to be outgoing and confident when approaching
students and staff
Good time management and the flexibility to attend a variety of fixtures each week
Demonstrate individual initiative as well as sound teamwork skills
Competent IT skills
Attributes
A positive can-do attitude and excellent team player
Good attention to detail
Flexibility to work in a variety of different locations and conditions
Ability to follow instructions but also the capability to be proactive and work on own
initiative
