Gymnastics Zone Extreme

Competitive Gymnastics

Dear Gymnastics Zone Gymnasts and Parents,

First, I would like to thank you for showing interest in one of the most well known

Gymnastics Programs in the area. Gymnastics is one of the most exciting and challenging activities available to our kids today! This unique sport combines strength, elegance, and superb body control into a gravity defying, awe shocking routine that will leave spectators amazed. Gymnasts are athletes in every sense of the word, dedicated and hard working to achieve their goals. In the end, they are rewarded by a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment that makes all of the very hard work worthwhile.

At Gymnastics Zone, we take gymnastics beyond the competition floor. First, we believe in providing a positive family atmosphere that teaches our young athletes “life lessons” that will remain a part of them forever. Our athletes will learn to problem solve, work through their differences, appreciate and respect their differences, encourage their teammates, set goals, and work in a positive environment to achieve those goals.

Second, our highly qualified staff teaches personal growth. Each gymnast will have required skills to achieve as they go through the year. If you have already achieved that goal, the coaches will custom design a personal goal just for you. This goal setting will help you visualize and achieve your maximum potential. Third, you will gain valuable experience competing in front of nationally known judges and thousands of spectators increasing your confidence, courage, and self-esteem. Gymnastics Zone will help you reach your individual goals, build character and give you the experience of being a true champion. Finally, we have lots of fun!!! As a part of Gymnastics Zone you will have the opportunity to take part in many exciting activities throughout the year.

Our Season runs from September through April with time off for holidays and family functions. Our teams attend several competitions locally and around the country. We also perform at many exhibitions and make appearances for the Springfield Community.

The following information will help each family understand the commitment level that we expect at Gymnastics Zone. Please take the time to thoroughly read over the packet in full. As you consider Gymnastics Zone please keep in mind that this is our “competitive” program. Gymnastics Zone Extreme is a competitive, cutting edge program that has high expectations for every member of our team. We know that our program is not for everyone, so please take the time to discuss the following information with your child prior to team placements. If your child decides to be a part of our team, please continue to encourage your child throughout the season and help your child stay focused on our goals. Gymnastics Zone teaches kids to be exceptional gymnasts; but most of all, we teach kids to be exceptional people by focusing on teamwork, integrity and a structured way of life.

Thank you so much for your interest in Gymnastics Zone! As we prepare for our 4 th

Season, we are anticipating a very exciting and successful year. We hope you find this packet informative and that it will answer any questions that you may have concerning our program. Our coaches look forward to meeting each of you and want you to know that we are dedicated to giving each gymnast the ultimate experience.

GYMNASTICS GUIDELINES AND AGREEMENT

TUITION: 2006-2007 tuition is $75.00 - $125.00 / monthly payable to Gymnastics Zone.

Reasons for dismissal:

• Unsportsmanlike attitude or conduct

• The use of Alcohol or Drugs at any time can result in immediate dismissal from the squad.

• Violation of Rules and Procedures by gymnast or parent

Behavioral and Discipline Protocol: All behavioral and discipline will be discussed with the team member on an individual basis.

After having the opportunity to correct the matter, if further discussion is needed, the member’s parent will be notified. Together, the coach, parent, and member will work to resolve a problem. If a resolution cannot be made, the coach and director will decide on probation, suspension, or removal of the member from the team.

Important Notice

If for any reason your son or daughter does not fulfill the team obligation any monies spent on your child’s behalf is non-refundable.

(I.e. apparel, travel arrangements, competition fees etc.) If there are any surplus monies not already spent they will be returned. Any monies raised from fundraising events sponsored by the booster club will not be refundable but will go into the general booster account.

Other Policies and Information a. All team members must have a signed medical release and travel liability form on file with Gymnastics Zone. b. A full tuition payment will be due the first of each month. Tuition is for training and gym fees, and is due to remain a

member of the team regardless of circumstances. There is a $10.00 late fee for tuition paid after the first class of the

month without prior financial hardship approval. If tuition is not paid by the end of the month, member may be

suspended until account is current. c. Accounts must be kept current at all times. In the event a team member is removed or quits, any and all credit on

account will revert back to the organization. No refund payments or refund of the deposit. If a negative balance is on

your account at the time of dismissal, you will be responsible for the payment of said balance. d. Please remember and be clear on this point: Your monthly tuition pays for training only. It does not pay for the right for

your child to perform. The child earns that right through his/her responsibility and preparedness as a team member.

In addition, this fee covers their training and membership on the team. IT IS DUE WHETHER THEY

HAVE MISSED CLASS OR NOT. e. If you and/or your child cannot work with the coaches and advisors of Gymnastics Zone, then you do have a choice: to leave

or to stay. Problems are usually misunderstandings and can be worked out. As a parent, talking amongst yourselves or

sideline coaching creates the wrong information and atmosphere. It spreads bad morale through the gym. The lines of

communication are always open and schedule a meeting to voice your concerns. Coaches will listen. If a problem

occurs where bad moral and negativity is being spread at practice a meeting with the parents and/or offenders will be

called. Until an understanding can be reached, practice to the offenders will become closed. Attempts will be made to

come to an understanding, and the parent will need to decide whether the program is for their participant or not. If the

participant is going to stay, the spreading of poor moral and negativity will be expected to stop. If it does not, the

director will assume the program is not right for the participant and remove them from the team. f. All rules for the gym must be followed. Some are listed below:

1.

No one is allowed on any gymnastics equipment without a gymnastics coach. Everyone should enter and exit the floor without going over or under equipment.

2.

Parents, siblings, and spectators are not allowed in the gym area for insurance purposes. They may wait in the waiting area.

3.

Street shoes are not allowed in the gym. Gym shoes that have not been worn outside must be utilized.

4.

All food or drinks are to be kept and consumed out of the gym. g. Coaches may decide to have closed practices when they feel it is necessary.

h. ALL GYMNAST'S ACCOUNTS MUST BE KEPT CURRENT. ALL MONEY TURNED IN WILL GO TOWARDS

GYMNAST'S PAST DUE ACCOUNTS. PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANYTHING

TO INCUR EXPENSES IF THE GYMNAST'S ACCOUNT IS NOT CURRENT. In addition, gymnasts will not be allowed to order additional apparel or perform in additional individuals or stunt groups if their account is not current. i. Any event, situation, incident, or problem that may arise that is not specifically stated or covered within this set of

guidelines, will be acted upon at the discretion of director. j. Statements will be provided upon request to include tuition due, travel or other fees due, fundraising raised, and

payments made. Please check your statement for any discrepancies. Discrepancies must be reported immediately

otherwise statement is accepted as valid and is due immediately. Also note that fundraising may take approximately 2

weeks to show on your statement, therefore any fundraising that does not make the cut off will be deducted from the

following month’s statement.
