BARBARA KNOTHE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Barbara Knothe Scholarship Fund began in 2002 after the loss of Barb In March of 2001.
The fund was created with the donations of persons who loved Barb and knew how much she
loved out gymnasts. She always enjoyed every gymnast and looked forward to each and
every encounter. Her great sense of humor was something we will all remember. For many
gymnasts she turned a tear into a smile.
The Fund awards a monetary gift yearly to a well-deserving PA gymnasts. The amount is
subject to change each year but will not be less than $800.00. It is also possible that more than
one candidate can be chosen. In order to qualify the gymnast must meet the following criteria:
A U.S.A.G. registered athlete at any level graduating this year.
She must be continuing her education in the college of her choice.
She must be a Pennsylvania resident.
She must submit a letter stating her reasons for doing U.S.A.G. gymnastics, what she has
learned from the sport and how it will influence her life.
The Coach of the gymnast must submit a letter stating the positive factors of this gymnast and
how she has made an impression on her team.
We are looking for a graduating senior that has shown a great love of gymnastics, the ability to
overcome adversity, team leadership, outstanding effort and a great sense of humor.
