course is designed to introduce students to historical inquiry and techniques through the study of antiquity.

Ancient History: Josephus and the Jewish Wars (O)

A study of Josephus’ account of the history of the Jewish people from the Maccabean revolt to the fall of Masada.
Special attention will be paid to Josephus’ historiographical methods and to the social, cultural, intellectual, and
political context of the period. Prerequisite: CLAS 2501 or 2601 .
