Lawn care / pesticides – Charlie has created a Goals and Action Plan for CTC Lawn Care to address a holistic approach to lawn care services at CTC
Question: Charlie, can you look into whether CTC is doing pesticide treatment again this year?
Action needed – Charlie will email Goals and Action Plan for CTC Lawn Care to all committee members. Committee members need to look over the draft and suggest edits to Charlie by

Water usage & costs – Jared volunteered to check into this
Question: Is it possible for CTC to install low flow shower heads in CTC units?
Energy usage & costs – Cynthia volunteered to check into this
Questions: Is energy measured by ward or building? Has the cost changed since switching to compact fluorescents (can share this information with MN Energy Challenge People)? What was the electrician talking about with regard to CTC going green?
Junk mail – Charlie volunteered to check into residents opting out of junk mailings (phone too?)
Action: Junk mail opt out information will be submitted for the next CTC Terrace Times.
Recycling at CTC – Asia & Wei volunteered to check into this
Questions: Does BFI (garbage and recycling company) have signs we can post or more information we can share with CTC community?
Action: Recycling information will be submitted for a future CTC Terrace Times. A display of items that can be recycled will also be exhibited at a future date (maybe for CTC Fall Cleanup?)
Reuse items at CTC – Hank volunteered to check into this
Questions: What are the options for donating items (furniture, household goods, etc.).
Action: Reuse information will be submitted for a future CTC Terrace Times.
Hazardous waste disposal – Nicole volunteered to check into this (Charlie to look into the magnets)
Questions: Where can residents safely dispose of/donate batteries, computers, electronics and other hazardous materials? Can we invite the hazardous waste people to use CTC as a hazardous waste drop off point a couple of times a year?
Increase in gardening plots at CTC – Hua volunteered to check into this
Question: Is it possible to increase garden plots? Who do we talk to about this?
Composting – Charlie has volunteered to check into this
Questions: Who decides if it is possible and what are the issues?
Trees at CTC – Cynthia volunteered to look into this
Action: Will talk to the grounds committee about their action plan
Sustainability Committee Website at CTC – Weon Gyu volunteered to look into this
Questions: How do we access it? Can we add our own content?
Brought up but not fully discussed at meeting (future ideas to explore): Compact fluorescents in every light fixture at CTC; Orientation information from our committee for incoming CTC residents;
Two-stage toilets; Carpooling/ride sharing online sign-up for shopping or nearby tasks; Making a bike repair tool kit available for CTC residents; Offering to host bike tours to nearby locations
(Como Lake, etc.); Committee members bringing snacks to share at the meetings (will email ask before next meeting); Website information for CTC residents
