Write the open syllables in red and the closed syllables in blue. If they do not follow the open closed syllable write in pencil (excite, mistake, suppose = final silent-e syllable). A dictionary will show you how to syllabicate each of the words. EX: de/tect; sup/pose (pose is silent-e syllable so leave in pencil) Write 3 sentences using vocabulary words 1 through 3 on your vocabulary word sheet. Each sentence must be at least 10 words or longer and contain 1 prepositional phrase.
