PERE CHENEY CEMETERY Pere Cheney Cemetery is located in Beaver Creek Township, Crawford County, Michigan. The 20 or so family community of Pere Cheney originated in the early 1800’s, built on a main railway. Cholera was the cause of the towns demise. Approximately 50 years later in 1877, the town was built again, on a much smaller scale. Again, cholera swept through the town and it had to be razed again. The following is from two books that the township has in its possession, the Sexton’s Receipt Journal and the Cemetery Deed Book, and in some cases the information conflicts.
