It is an “evidence based” system, providing statistics to prove customer demand for items in the collection. It hopes to save time, eliminate waste and improve performance. Currently, 5 libraries have taken up Collectionhq, including Brisbane City Libraries. Costs are based on population, with a once only set up fee ($3,500) and then annual subscription (from $9,500 to $45,000 approx.). Ian is happy to discuss charges with individual libraries. 1 Page | Minutes of Meeting of Collections Special Interest Group held on Thursday 9 February 2012 10am to 1pm 5. 6. 7. 8. 11am to 12.30pm Speaker: Michael Moynihan CEO HarperCollins Publishers Australia Michael gave an overview of his work in publishing and comments on the current issues impacting on the book trade such as bookshop closures and ebooks.
