JOB TITLE

JOB PURPOSE

Housekeeper

To ensure that there is a high standard of cleanliness within the Our House

Trio of services, providing a clean and hygienic environment for residents, staff and visitors.

DIMENSIONS

Residents

Our House based in Rock Ferry has 10 accommodation units for young women / mothers. First Base has 6 two bed bungalows and is semi independent move on accommodation based in Seacombe. Manor road is a small direct access scheme based in Wallasey. All three schemes have on site facilities, including a, communal lounge, training rooms, and laundry facilities. All projects have on site facilities, including an

Information Technology suite, communal lounge, training rooms, and laundry facilities.

Staff

The Housekeeper reports to the Trio Operations manager.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.

To clean and maintain the offices, training rooms and communal areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and a safe environment in which residents can live and staff can work.

2.

To ensure that the highest possible standards of accommodation are available for re-letting.

3.

To ensure that there are sufficient stocks of cleaning materials and equipment available in order to complete work schedules and provide a continuous cleaning provision.

4.

To ensure that the bedding laundry service is offered as per the scheme licence.

5.

To ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and that cleaning materials and equipment are not hazardous to the residents, staff and/or public.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

Context and Environment

The Trio provide accommodation, support, training, and personal development opportunities to young people aged between 16 – 25. The projects are staffed 24 hours a day and provide low to medium support services. The ethos is based on helping the young people who reside there to make the transition from dependence to independence, using a personal action plan. The young people are referred to the Trio from a variety of agencies, including Social Services, the Youth Offending Team, Health and the Local Authority.

Nearly all residents find themselves in need of the service due to family breakdown. It is recognised that all residents are amongst the most socially excluded in the country.

The Housekeeper is required to clean the accommodation units when due for re-let only. The offices, refuse store, laundry, toilets, training room and communal areas are cleaned on a daily basis.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

By way of a comprehensive Induction and Training Programme, House keepers must be able to demonstrate empathy towards young people. All staff are required to go through a comprehensive training programme relevant to the scheme environment and client group. Training includes, but is not limited to:
