A LETTER TO FATHER STATING THE REASONS YOU SHOULD BE CONFIRMED, THE IMPORTANCE OF
THE SACRAMENT TO YOU AND WHAT PART YOU PLAN TO TAKE IN THE CHURCH AFTER RECEIVING
THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION.
CANDIDATE MUST CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THAT THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION IS THE
COMPLETION OF THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM; THAT YOU ARE CONFIRMING THE VOWS TAKEN BY
YOUR PARENTS AND GODPARENTS.
CANDIDATE MUST UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THE LIFE OF CHRIST IN THEIR LIFESTYLE AND HAVE A
FIRM DETERMINATION TO LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY BEFORE AND
AFTER CONFIRMATION.
CANDIDATE MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE, A CONFIRMATION NAME, WHICH
CAN BE YOUR BAPTISMAL NAME OR SAINT NAME.
SPONSORS: Sponsor must be a practicing catholic and if the sponsor is from another parish, he/she must provide a letter
from that parish stating that he/she is an active and practicing parishioner. The sponsor will also be required to attend
some sessions with the candidate.
