Acknowledging that successful reputation management often translates into organizational success, an increasing number of professionals invest in creating, maintaining, and improving corporate identity and reputation. Based on such building experience, scholars have also researched, investigated, and theorized reputation and its management. These intersecting efforts have instituted a significant literature that would saturate back both commercial and academic aspects of reputation management. Although reputation has gained significance in almost every sector, especially in the service industries, which rely on long-term customer relationships built on trust, successful reputation management sits at the core of creating difference. Monitoring corporate reputation has thus increasingly become critical in such service sectors as healthcare, finance, and communications. Thus, cumulative experiences and research findings in such service sectors are valuable for this growing area of reputation management.
