Eleven Days In The Life Of An Oompa Loompa Now, the start of this story is rather quite simple, it starts with four short giggly young girls meeting at a wonderful place called Dip Flat. It wasn’t too long until these young girls were named. Why, might you ask, did these girls gain their name? Height was the biggest factor, but they made up for that when it came to their hard work and laughter. All lined up for jobs and Oompa juice as these four Oompa Loompas couldn’t stop with their loud chatter. They happily cleaned, rain or shine, every day, sweeping and mopping was always the way. Cleaning dish after dish it never seemed to end they piled up high but never killed there giggly trend. Next comes the toilets and showers squeaky clean and shiny is always the standard met, and by the last day the Oompa Loompas had successfully cleaned over 170 toilets and 150 showers. Dishing the food is always a personal favourite as the oompas got to change those cold, droopy and tired faces into warm smiley and thankful ones. Now, the oompas also had lots of odd jobs to complete over their time at Dip Flat. Jobs such as the hot tedious job of setting up and taking down the 20’ x 30’ tents but that didn’t phase these four oompas, as this was a great learning experience for them. These odd jobs also included unpacking and repacking the trailer of outdoor equipment, which, might I add, showed even though these oompas were rather short they didn’t lack in the muscle department. Don’t let me forget the big job for being first aid patients for the Bush One course, which was a very exciting and entertaining job getting to test out the oompas first aid skills as well as makeup skills. Luckily for these four oompas they got a chance to have a bit free time between jobs. How many Oompa Loompas does it take to change a tyre? Well… four that time round. But I’m sure each of the oompas would be able to manage by themselves if it were needed as they have now learnt the system. The oompas also had a ride in the Unimog to drop off the Officer course at Lake Rotoiti. After a hard morning of packing up, the oompas were able to go down to the river for a rather chilly dip. After endless nights of playing cards, the days until home narrowed down, some of the oompas were looking forward to heading home, where as the others didn’t want to leave the beautiful place of Dip Flat. The routine jobs continued and so did the packing up until it was time for the 2012 Dip Flat Oompa Loompa fatigues to depart. Oompa Loompa doopa dee doo this is an article from our point of view.
