What are Official Educational Records?
To be considered official an educational record must be:
1) sent directly to the Office of International Services from the issuing
institution or agency, or
2) received by the Office of International Services in the issuing institution or
agency’s sealed envelope.
If the issuing institution or agency does not provide official educational records,
either by postal mail or in a sealed envelope, the following steps must be taken in
order to remove the hold on the student’s record and permit them to register for
future semesters:
1) request the institution or agency to send a letter directly to the Office of
International Services specifying that they will not mail or provide official
transcripts, and
2) submit the original document to the Office of International Services.
It is the student’s responsibility to verify that the hold has been removed from their
My Missouri State record prior to registration for the following semester. The
student should schedule an appointment with an International Services staff
member to discuss any problems or issues.
