OSTERLOH BRAHMAN STUD August 2013 IMPORTANT NOTICE – PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO READ! First of all, we would like to thank all our buyers who have supported us in the past. With the excellent season and beef prices on the up, I feel there is reason to be optimistic. We consider this years sale offering on 12th September to be as good as previous years, with approximately 10 stud and potential stud sires included. These sale bulls have been selected out of a group of 116 bulls, which have run together up until end of May this year, where we selected the best for sale preparation. We have once again decided to offer 50 Brahman bulls this year, to accommodate the needs of all our buyers, so they will be more affordable. We are also offering 5 Borman (Boran x Brahman) bulls on the sale. Before considering cheaper alternatives, please consider what you get when purchasing an OBS bull: 1. All bulls have been inspected and come with a registration certificate. 2. Our bulls are all out of proven pure Manso bloodlines. 3. We have never crossed our cattle with Gir, Indu, Nelore, etc. Therefore you get predictability! 4. Our cattle are all performance tested, (the whole herd). 5. Our bulls are all backed by Breedplan performance figures, so you are not buying a “lucky packet”. 6. Our sale bulls’ dams all have calving records, available in the sale catalogue. 7. Our bulls are all fertility tested along with scrotal measurements. 8. We do not take temperamental cattle and try to feed them tame! We continually select for good temperament. This is breeding, not feeding. 9. All our sale bulls have been blooded with Heartwater, both strains of Redwater and Gallsickness blood. 10. All our bulls have been vaccinated against Anthrax , Botulism, Blackquarter, Rift Valley Fever, Lumpy Skin, BVD, pastuerella and Vibriosis. 11. They are also delivered free of charge, often right to your farm. Due to an unfortunate incident in 2012, we will only be delivering bulls that are insured this year. We believe that our long term selection for earlier maturing, easier keeping cattle is what the market needs. Please consider all of the above and look at the complete package, before rushing and buying cheaper alternatives, without any of the above credentials. Remember: A good bull doesn’t cost, he pays! We look forward to seeing you on sale day or before. If you need any assistance in selecting the right bull for your needs, please consult with myself or one of the gentlemen on the accompanying flyer. Yours sincerely Eugene Osterloh
