Tutor/Assessor comments on assessment criteria
(you could also indicate on the work itself where each AC is met)
Generally this is a good essay, but you have not met all the
assessment criteria at Level 3. You need to not only describe
current values and beliefs in conservatism, but explain and
analyse the evolution of thinking within conservatism and its
different strands.

Grade
Descriptor
Tutor/Assessor comments against grade descriptors
Grade
indicator
(P/M/D)
GD1:
Understanding
of the subject
You show a very good grasp of the subject, especially in terms of
identifying the values and ideas within different political ideologies.
To achieve a distinction, I would have liked to see more abstract
comparison of the ideologies you discussed, rather than pitching
each value against one another.
M
GD2:
Application of
knowledge
You make good use of external sources, although I would have liked
to see much more analysis of the ideas of others and whether you
thought their arguments were valid.
P
GD7:
Quality
Your work is very well presented, referenced and written – well
done. A more extensive bibliography and engagement with external
sources could have allowed you a distinction.
