Share responses with the class. 2) Purpose: The objective for today’s lesson is to identify and discuss skills and knowledge that are necessary to care for children, whether it is as a babysitter or as a parent. 3) Input: Students will cooperatively review textbook sections that cover child care and create an outline of basic knowledge for babysitters. 4) Modeling and guided practice: As the students share the information on their outlines, the teacher will elaborate on the topics and facilitate discussion of the outlines 5) Independent Practice: Students will independently create a babysitting handbook designed for use in a babysitting training program. Topics will include first aid/emergencies, developmental milestones, age appropriate activities, care guidelines for young children, and handling difficult situations that may arise. 6) Closure: the teacher will review necessary skills and knowledge for babysitters with the class.
