Indeed, we are, right here, remaining." Their question showed the shortage in the degree of faith that they had. They did not say 'Pray for us our Lord. But they said: "pray your Lord", as if HE is the Lord of Moses alone. And this way of speech have been repeated in the words of the children of Israel several times. They even said as HE tells us in the Qura'n: The dialogue continued between them and Moses a long time, directing the question to Moses who calls upon Allah Almighty and the answers kept coming to Him from the Almighty God. Rather than implement it and end the matter, they asked new questions. Invites Moses again and gets answered, and the answer leads to a misplaced question from them. Then the Right Almighty cuts on them the controversy and gives them the descriptions of a cow that apply only to one specific cow. As if they stressed on themselves, so HE stressed upon them. We come to the questions of the children of Israel. Says God Almighty: {They (Jews) said, "Pray your Lord to make clear to us what it is}. It is a question which is out of meaning and place. Because the Almighty God said to them, it is a cow. HE did not say, for example, it is an animal in generality. So there was no place for the question. So the Right Almighty says to them: It is a cow neither old nor young. then HE says:" but median between that", meaning a compromise between all these descriptions. The Right after that rebukes them saying: {so do what you are commanded}. It means Stop arguing and carry out the command of Allah and Slay the cow. But they did not do and therefore changed the wording of the question.
