NATIONAL BLACK PR SOCIETY HOSTS 11TH
CONFERENCE AND CAREER FAIR IN MILWAUKEE, OCT. 27 – 30
Speaker and Sponsorship Opportunities Available
MILWAUKEE – May 13, 2011 – The National Black Public Relations Society (NBPRS), the
premier professional organization for African-American communicators, hosts its 11th NBPRS
Conference and Career Fair Oct. 27 – 30 in Milwaukee at the InterContinental Milwaukee hotel.
The conference attracts more than 500 practitioners from around the country.
Themed, “Your Network @ Work: Managing Transitions, Techniques and Technology for
Career and Business Success,” the conference addresses the latest strategies and newest
technologies to keep PR professionals competitive and viable, especially in a down economy.
“As a society, we are still in the midst of the most challenging economic times since the Great
Depression and the public relations industry is among those hardest hit,” said NBPRS President
Wynona Redmond.
“The conference brings together recruiters and qualified candidates at the Career Fair, provides
excellent networking opportunities with corporate and agency leaders and offers solid
programming to help keep the NBPRS network working,” Redmond said.
Topics include social marketing and media, branding, the new “hybrid” PR professional, social
responsibility, emerging trends in PR, current case studies and recent lessons learned.
Also at the conference, NBPRS will publish the first ever NBPRS Network @ Work
Membership Guide, the only national directory of African-American public relations
professionals. The publication will feature some of the best and brightest PR practitioners in the
country.
Sponsorships are available for the conference and the Membership Guide. Contact Lauri
