Job Description
Title: Bank Clinical Research Nurse
Reporting to: Senior Research Nurse
Scope: To assist the Senior Research Nurse with the conduct of clinical trials including protocol
interpretation and compliance, carrying out assigned tasks as required by study protocol and to
delegate tasks in the absence of the Clinical Lead Nurse. All duties assigned are to be carried
out to Bio-Kinetic Europe Limited standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with
applicable regulatory requirements (the UK Statutory Instrument 2004, Number 1031, the
Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 and subsequent amendments). Must
maintain current NMC registration and relevant Life Support Training in accordance with their
staff specific training form.
Key duties and responsibilities:












Record accurate and timely data.
To perform clinical tasks e.g. vital signs, 12 lead ECG, vitalograph, venepuncture,
processing of blood samples, collection of urine or faeces as required.
Identify and report adverse events to medical staff.
To monitor overall volunteer safety.
To take responsibility for the checking of essential equipment as per company SOPs.
To assist in the shipping of study samples and supplies.
Ensure that volunteers comply with study requirements as instructed by Senior Research
Nurse.
To assist Clinic Coordinator in ordering clinic supplies and monthly stock control.
To be able to work flexible hours.
To record all training in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality as per Data Protection Act and support all company duties
and policies.
Any other duties within reason and capability as required by management.
