Bridges Career Finder-Choices Explorer Instructions

Set up your portfolio in Bridges: If you have already set up your portfolio, just log in with your
portfolio name and password and begin with #2. (Make sure you are not on the site ID.)
1) click
Portfolio Name: Use your network login, Example-hannaea
Password:
Use your 6 digit birthday, Example-010185
(this consistent practice will allow you to keep information in place year after year to
revisit and review.)
2) click Choices Explorer box
3) In the Work box: Start with a quick quiz
4) (Introduction: Career Finder)….click Start Now
5) Complete: 1 “What are your interests”….click next
6) Complete: 2 “What are your skills”….click next
7) Career Finder Page….
Change “here are the top 20 careers for you” to “top 50 careers”
8) Select a career that you are seriously interested in to compare its interests and skills to
yours
9) click PRINT this (Upper right-hand corner)
10) Type in your name….click PRINT….(Close X tab)
11) Click “More information about the career you are interested in” (right-hand side)
12) Read boxes down the right-hand column of the page: At a Glance and Related Majors. If a
Multimedia video is available click Watch Video. Turn up the sound so you can hear
presentation. When video is finished close X tab.
13) click PRINT this (Upper right-hand corner)
14) Type in your name….click PRINT….(Close X tab, see picture in instruction #10)
15) click BACK arrow (one time) to Career Finder Page and change “here are the top 50
careers for you” to “top 100 careers”
16) Select another career that you are seriously interested in to compare its interests and skills
to yours
17) click PRINT this (Upper right-hand corner)
18) Type in your name….click PRINT….(Close X tab)
19) click “More information about the career you are interested in” (right-hand side)
20) Read boxes down the right-hand column of the page: At a Glance and Related Majors. If a
Multimedia video is available c. Watch Video. Turn up the sound so you can hear
presentation. When video is finished close X tab.
21) click PRINT this (Upper right-hand corner)
22) Type in your name….click PRINT….(Close X tab)
23) I will be collecting four printouts: #10, #14, #18, #22 paperclip together
