S.I.O. 2/4/10 P.f LOCAL NEWS “A HUNTING WEDDING Much interest was excited when it became known that Major Dennistoun and Miss Morgan were to have a – how shall I describe it? – a hunting wedding, says a correspondent in the Madras Mail. The President and Committee of the Hunt are giving the wedding breakfast at the club Annexe, after the marriage ceremony at St. Stephen’s Church, and the guests are requested to appear in hunting kit, as there is to be a meet of the hounds at the Annexe at 3 p.m. Major Dennistoun and Miss Morgan have been keen followers of he hounds for many years and it seems only fitting that the Hunt should be well to the fore at this momentous epoch of their lives, to wish them every happiness and luck in the future. But a “pink” wedding and a Meet of the hounds immediately afterwards is a thing quite out of the ordinary and conventional groove here.” S.I.O 16/4/10 p.a SOCIAL NOTES “The marriage of Major J.G.Dennistoun and Miss Morgan at St Stephen’s Church on Thursday was a very smart affair, the whole of Ooty society assembling both at the church and afterwards at the reception at Government House…The whole edifice was filled to overflowing long before 12:30, and the pink coats and smart frocks made a brilliant gathering. The wedding breakfast and reception given at Government House by kind permission of Their Excellencies, by the President and Members of the Oooty Hunt Committee, was a most sumptuous affair…Sir James Wolfe-Murray (brother) made a delightful speech saying how sad he was that Sir Arthur Lawley was indisposed and unable to attend…..After breakfast photographs were taken of the bridal party, both in wedding garment and in hunting kit with Master and Whips, and hounds in front. Major and Mrs. Dennistoun left shortly after amid the blowing of the horn and cheers, being mercilessly pelted with rice as they rode away.” p.i “DOMESTIC OCCURRENCE – On Thursday, the 14th April 1910, at St. Stephen’s Church, Ootacamund, Nilgiri Hills, India, by the Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Madras, assisted by the Rev.
