Greetings Sir Knights;
Following dinner and fellowship shared with the Beauceants, our September Conclave
was opened & business conducted. Two Companion Royal Arch Masons were elected
to receive the Orders of knighthood. After introductions a Cross of Faith was formed
in the memory of S/K Ray B. Miller who departed this life on 16th of June 2007. We
finally had the inspection scheduled earlier in the year by Our District Deputy R. E.
Timothy J. Edwards. Thanks again for those Sir Knights filling in. Past Grand
Commander Sir Knight John Wigglesworth, Treasurer; Eminent S/K Fred Hinshaw,
Junior Warden; E.S/K David Carter; Standard Bearer and S/K E. Howard Coleman as
Sentinel.
Saturday 29 Sept. 6 Sir Knights of Fredericksburg Commandery No. 1 escorted and
assisted in conferring the Orders of knighthood on 7 candidates at Richmond
Commandery No. 2. Congratulations and Welcome Sir Knights; Richard Dey,
Christopher Decker, Gregory Vecchi, Mark Brennan, Kevin Lawrence, Tom Spellman
and Jason Williams to Fredericksburg Commandery No. 1
Saturday October13th is our Masonic Home Visitation Day. A parade of antique cars,
motorcycles, floats and marching units made up of various Masonic bodies including
the Shrine, Royal Arch & Commandery will be in full regalia to put on a fine show. A
delicious lunch of barbecue, hotdogs, coleslaw, potato chips and drinks, is usually
provided after. It will be a great day of visitation and fellowship with our Masonic Home
Brethren.
Thursday October 18th. 7:30 pm. Stated conclave. Guest Speaker S/K Howard Roe.
a Sir Knight from Maryland that has been in regular attendance with us. S/K Howard‘s
presentation will be a display and short talk on his various Masonic memorabilia
collected over the years during his travels across this great nation.
Sir Knights, I am going to try to get dispensation for a joint conclave with Fairfax
No. 25 on the 1st. of November to allow time for those of us that would like to
attend the Grand RAC in Williamsburg. I will try send an early General Orders.
The Beauceants will provide deserts and join us for dinner at 6:30 pm. Bring a brother
and share our good food and fellowship.
