The Vision of Grandview Calvary
Baptist Church
“Grandview Calvary Baptist
Church is a community of people
who receive and extend the
radical welcome of God in Christ
for the transformation of our
neighborhood”
Newcomers! Welcome to our worship
service! You are important to us and we
want to make our church & staff
available to you. We’re glad you’re here!
We hope you will join us again. In the
sanctuary entrance foyer you will find
helpful brochures & information. We
invite you to fill out a yellow ‘care card’
found on the backs of the pews.
Seasonal Theme: Being led into this advent season, this time of waiting. Eastside
Storyguild invited us in to the story of Elijah on the first Sunday of advent. Until Christmas,
we will continue to explore God's action in Elijah's life and the call to us to turn to God and
prepare for Christ's coming. The Scriptures we will hear will be stories of Elijah as well as
stories from the Gospel that lead up to Jesus' birth. Both the morning and evening
congregations will be invited in to these stories through different liturgies and themes but
together we are in this season of waiting for the coming of Christ. We are reminded that now
we see only glimpses of what is to come when Christ returns.
